Water and Wastewater System Operators - If your utility has been affected by recent fire events, please provide feedback on infrastructure damages. The state Office of Emergency Management is compiling damages across Emergency Support Functions and we are assisting with the water sector.
Please provide to Sonya and Christina your damage assessments directly related to the fire. For now, a rough approximation of damage is sufficient. If you are unable to get to your facilities, please provide this information as soon as practical.
FEMA has a handbook that is helpful in understanding requirements for potential reimbursement. If you are requesting mutual aid through your agreement with the Oregon Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (ORWARN), please email to me and we will see if any regional utilities are able to assist. You can also go to our website and input your needs directly (preferable as you can denote your region and specific needs). I have included Jason Green, executive Director for OAWU so that his association also has a sense of needs in the water community.
At a minimum, I hope all of you, your coworkers and families are safe during these catastrophic fires.
Sincerely,
Chris Wanner / ORWARN Chair
